End of Season Booked
Thanks for the season guys, despite the season ending earlier than I expected it has been and is always a pleasure to play for the Relics.
Weekend of 11th - 13th November, same location as last year.
Includes 3 nights, but this year we have 4 units ( a bed for everyone ).
Annual Changeing of the Guard for 2012 at Shoal Bay RSL 12th Nov.
Manager ( above average performance ), Coach ( Poor peformance and record ) , Captain( inspiring as usual ), Beer Bitch ( started out slow but came home strong ) and Trainer ( a non-existant low performance based on promises last year )

I've already forgotten it !
DB's comment that we will remember the game for a while doesn't apply to me. I've already forgotten it, but what I won't forget in a hurry is the pain and sadness that this season has already ended. It's been a bugger of a year, shortened season, interrupted by continual rain, very little training and every we time we just started playing well, more interruptions. Yesterday was one of the days that no matter how much I wanted it, and just how much I tried I couldn't put my mark on the game. I'm sorry for being so quiet after the game, but I was gutted, I so wanted to be playing next weekend.
However on the positive side, what I will never forget is the continual joy I get from playing with such a great team of guys, very few ill words and lots of positive reinforcement. The fond memories of captaining our team will always be with me. But, we already need to look forward to next year and our lineup. As part of that, you need a new on field leader, someone who can inspire from the front, I've been very proud to be captain but it's time for somebody new, as my devotion is needed elsewhere.
Regards Hat

Final postponed.
Another washout makes it eight postponed games for the season, considering we have only played 14 games it's no wonder players get injuries. Lets hope we don't have to play this Final on a midweek night again.
P.s. Can someone tell Willy that Phil's not coming.

Hero in our midst
Hey did anyone catch Blackbeard on the news the other night. They had to edit 5 minutes out of it cause he wouldnt shut up when the camera was on... and the baby had more hair. Good thing he used his hands/arms cause if it was feet/thighs i reckon he woulda got the stumble dribble going for a good hundred yards.
Good on ya Wheats, job well done.
p.s. I think ya mate on the left wants to swap. His smells funny

Relics lose a thriller
The Relics have franked their premiership credentials with a very unlucky loss to the Gosford Cavemen in the Major Semi Final. In order to avenge their defeat in the game that matters, the Relics must now beat the Avoca Gumbies in the Final next Saturday.
The match began at a frenetic pace as both sides slugged it out for possession during the first 20 minutes. The Cavemen had the first real opportunity to score only to be denied by Dallas who defied gravity to become airborne to push an explosive strike to the crossbar and back into the field of play.
Gradually during the first half the Relics began to dominate and at 0-0 at half time, and running downhill in the second half the match was well and truly within their sights.
The second half was all Relics. Despite spending long periods in the attacking zone the Relics were unable to come up with a goal. The Cavemen could see the writing on the wall and were desperate in defence. Tragedy stuck, however, late in the second half when the Cavemen pounced on a loose pass and scored a runaway goal against the run of play. To a man the Cavemen must have thought they were kissed on the arse by a rainbow!
To their credit the Relics accepted the defeat as the one that got away and now are focussed on beating the Gumbies next Saturday. If the Relics make it to the GF – watch out Cavemen – lightening does not strike the same place twice!!
All Relics had powerful games. Well done boys, lick your wounds, and lets live to fight another day.
Rumour has it that Waz is going to gleefully lead a skills session at training.

gidday Vic, can u post this for me on the blog, ta Howler.
The last time this scribe entered a match report was to describe a pathetic Relic performance against the hapless cavemen in a game most Relics would rather forget. Fast forward to todays game and the words pathetic and hapless have been replaced with courageous and determined! I would like to thank every Relic for their effort today, I play sport to be competetive and I realise you can't always win but I always appreciate when sportsmen have a go! Today the Relics and Cavemen had a go, god love em both. But most importantly the Relics had a go, the backline was hard again just like Howlers dick and the cavemen had no answer to cracking them. Once again the frontline came under fire for not producing the winner but hey the caveman backline was a bit better than ours on the day. For the first time in a long while I actually felt we all played together as a team, the drink after the game reinforced that feeling, even tho we lost it felt like we acheived something. The shit we put on each other after todays game was probably a screen to how we really feel about each others game, sure we all know we are not great footballers, some are better than others but if we give each other a wrap and remain positive we can win this comp no worries! Thanks for a great afternoon guys. luv Howler
