Vale Statue !

What a sad post to make. The Relics are shattered at the news that one of our own, Steven "Statue" Dunlop has passed away in Indonesia whilst on holidays. Contrary to earlier reports, I now understand that his wife Glenda is on the spot. Our deepest sympathy goes to Glenda, their son Angus and their extended family. Statue has been with the Kincumber club for 13 years and has been an integral part of the Relics. His contributions to our blogs have been numerous. He's always volunteered to help at parties and only last weekend, at Micks 50th, shared with us a stack of photos from last year's end of season trip. Above is a smattering of shots, showing him earning his nick name but also helping us all enjoy life. Steve had a wonderful right foot kick, a delicious temper on the few occasions he fired up at the opposition, and we all knew he had our back on the field.

Vale Steven, we shall miss you greatly. Hat.

Super Coach & Grand Finals Updates-Relics are Great Supporters

It would be remiss of us not to mention our own super Coach, Jeff (Tolly) Towler whose under 15C boys won their grand final a week ago. Josh had a fine game, with the team scoring off a wonderful corner from him early in the game. Coach Tolly had just about eaten his fingers to the stumps at half time. It was wonderful to see at least 10 of the Relics there supporting Josh as he has supported us during the season. Also this Sunday, The Relics were again out in force to watch Ian and Dave Cullens daughters, Sian and Heidi in the Womens Under 14A grand final at Pluim. Unfortunately Kincumber lost, but both girls had great games. The biggest effort was seeing so many Relics out early, considering Micks second 50th party the night before. Grant prepared his fabulous KimChi (pickled cabbage) and a mild? capsicum sauce. I observed the non experienced wolfing it down with sausages, I bet they are sorry now !

The Esky Needs Help- Training Wednesday night

Hi Guys. Owing to missing so many training nights during the season our kitty is lighter than usual. To help remedy this situation I propose a run again this Wednesday night, usual time and venue. Frost will be open for two of the Womens teams. See you there. Flemo
