Maybe if you pull your finger out you'll see again.

Beer Bitch Blind - and NO - he is not at the races!

The Beer Bitch was yesterday struck in the eye by the ball and is currently fighting for his sight.

Nearing the end of yesterday's session the BB was accidently struck by a Mickledinho thunder-drive (toe-poke). Within minutes BB had lost all sight in his right eye and ferried himself to his GP who referred him immediately to Gosford Hospital.

Concerned team-mates were heard to exclaim: It's OK you have two! Who's going to look after the beer? What do we do with the Esky? How am I going to get home? Who's going to collect the fees? Who's going to score our goals? I hope he remembers Coke for the Esky next time? Obviously BB is a vital cog in the Relics machine!

In a frantic four hours at Gosford Hospital, two subcontinent in-turns, with a combined eye trauma experience of three minutes, worked furiously to restore BB's sight.

Today BB has regained much of his sight and is resting comfortably. It appears that the blow caused internal bleeding in the eye and as the eye filled with blood BB's sight disappeared. It is understood he will see his Dr today for a specialist referral during the week.

Glimmer of Hope as Relics Slide Continues

Despite some enterprising second half attacking play the Relics have continued their slide down the 45’s ladder after a 1-3 loss to the Kripples. The Relics are now in 4th position and desperate for a win.

Post match Coach Vic was philosophical about their third loss in succession indicating that “the second half was good.” He also dismissed speculation that his continuing feud with Diamond and other senior players was affecting team morale. “That’s bullshit!” exclaimed Coach Vic, “the Diamond shone out there today – just ask him” He then added “we had 16 open shots on goal and missed them all, in fact, I don’t think Diamond, Mickledinho, the Banker, Downhill, the Crow or the Hat could hit the side of a barn with a bucket of wheat!” Coach Vic then stormed out of the media room and headed straight for the esky. Coach Vic was obviously disappointed that he could not take the field due to injury.

Statue, too, was wheezing like the late great Bernie Bampton and not fit to take his place. In a herculean display MM required several painkilling injections to take his place. MM was not expected to play and It should be noted that Dallas did continuous cartwheels and had a grin like a split watermelon when he saw MM draw his boots from his bag.

The Relics also lost Roy early in the match and it is believed that Roy took an eyelash injury into the game. Apparently he applied his mascara too vigorously on Friday night prior to attending a cross dressing party with the Diamond. Roy’s early exit made the way for the Banker to enter the game. The Banker was starting on the bench and one of several senior players dropped from the starting line-up following last weeks massacre.

Running up hill and into a gale the Relics did well to keep the Kripples at bay for the opening 20 minutes. The weight of field position finally told and the Kripples scored to take a 1-0 lead. This was the half time score.

Incredibly the wind dropped completely for the second half, adding to the Relics’ woes. Despite this the Relics took control of the match during large stages of the second period. The Axe was solid in attack and defence, showing off some silken skills on the ball. The Silver Fuzz continued his good form, scoring a goal and pressuring the Kripples defence repeatedly. Maximillion and the Toe, who took a savage blow to the ribs, were solid in defence.

In the last quarter Coach Vic pushed the Banker forward in attack and moved Shadow to sweeper. This proved a master stroke with Shadow finding the Relics midfield at will, precipitating numerous attacking raids. During this period the Crow, Mickledino, Diamond, Dallas and the Hat combined to repeatedly threaten the Kripples goal.

The second half finally saw the Relics push the ball around and find feet. Rather than run away from the ball players called for the ball and moved to it. This is promising, particularly as the Relics play Avoca in a must win match next week.

In post match festivities BB came under fire as the piss ran out. Note to BB, bring two cartons of VB and a six pack of Tooheys to future games.

Dallas keen to step up if needed

Today at about 6.00pm I went past Frost and took this photo of Brian. Obviously he is ready to step up to goalie if needed, however, I would suggest to Dallas that he usehis hands to catch the ball...this method is risky

"20% chance I can play on Saturday".

Just got a call today from MM, he is suffering from back, shoulder and groin pains (maybe a little pride as well). Will let us know on Thursday if he's fit to play this weekend.

So, those with keeper experience, you may be volunteered into duty and most important, 6 is not a bench mark.

I know what you guys are thinking but she's not over 45.

Starting line up week 5.

Sex Scandal Rocks Relics

A yet to be named Relic is today embroiled in a sex scandal relating to an after match incident involving himself and a group of models.

According to a reliable source the incident took place as the Relic in question stumbled into the models’ private party as he made his way home following a wild night of drinking at an undisclosed venue in Watanobbie. Whilst details are sketchy at this stage, it is understood that the Relic was set upon by the group of young fashion models unable to resist the sheer animal magnetism being exuded by the balding football veteran. There are fears that other Relics may be targeted by similar groups of young women. Inquiries into the matter continue…

The after match scandal certainly provided some gloss to what was a dismal day for the Relics who met and lost 6-0 to Budgewoi at home. The score line actually flattered the Relics as MM pulled off some remarkable saves, particularly late in the match.

Budgewoi dominated all aspects of the game and have certainly stamped themselves as competition favourites. The Relics to their credit, however, kept the rampaging Budgewoi outfit scoreless for the middle third of the match. Three of the goals came late in the match as the weary Relics faded noticeably.

Apart from MM, The Banker and The Silver Brumby had strong games. Up front The Axe ran hard all day with Mickledinho and Downhill toiling earnestly in the middle. All players tried their best and no doubt felt sore on Sunday morning having put another 20 to 30kms into their aging legs.

In post match festivities Shadow handled the chips and pretzels like a champion, Coach Vic smelt like Statue and no one could doubt The Crows effort with the tongs. Thanks Shadow for hosting the Relics!

With the Relics losing their second match in succession Coach Vic must once again go back to the drawing board to find that winning formula.

Coach responds to Media

Great to see that Coach Vic is reading the match reports and responding to this media by slotting The Hat and The Fuzz into key left side positions. A bit rough on The Axe and BB though - dropped to the bench!

Updated starting line up.

Steve O is out so I made changes to starting line up, Flemo to left fullback and Max comes in from the bench to right fullback.

We are playing the competition leaders at their home ground, I know its going to be tough but we have the team to go all the way. Lets start hard, put it in,  make yourselves available, demand the ball and push the players around you to work just as hard. WE CAN DO IT.

Great turn out at training today again.
