I am very uneasy about letting this decision go through to the keeper. By not appealing we are sending a signal that we were complicit in cheating and therefore cheats. I believe we have a moral obligation to appeal. Why should we take on the chin a decision ground in a poorly written rule administered by a bunch of imbeciles?
Two grounds for appeal
1. The Relics acted in good faith believing that the substitution made for the match against Budgewoi was consistent with the rule. We had options. We did not have to play the player in question and if we believed we were breaking a rule then he would not have played. Since this team has been together we have a faultless record in abiding by the rules and regulations of both Club and Association.
2. The rule is poorly written and subject to a range of interpretations. Why should a team be penalised for unintentionally breaching a poorly written rule?
I also think the Association are hoping we don't appeal because they would be stuck between a rock and hard place if we sought independent arbitration through the legal system.
Here, Here... Well spoken Posh. I reckon you got a good case going. They would shit themselves.
ReplyDeleteI think we all agree with your view on the consequences but we are not appealing to independent arbitration through the legal system.
ReplyDeleteJust giving them $250 to rethink what we already told them, which they didnt bother to respond to.
Appeal Pending!!
ReplyDeleteI've spent the weekend away from soccer but finally couldn't help myself. Have today spoken to two senior club execs, and they agree the rule is poorly written, and more importantly the penalty points are not warranted. No promises, but the exec is this week going to discuss appealing it themselves, which would mean the club paying the $250. Watch this space. Flemo
As per Flemo I can't find anything in the constitution re penalty - so are they setting a precedent and if so have they done the same or will they do the same to any other team? There is already a similar event taking place that they have not finalised as yet , which has been going on for the last couple of months.
ReplyDeleteii. In the event of the offending team drawing the match, the result of the match shall be recorded as a win to their opponents by two (2) goals to nil (0). In addition to losing the one (1) point for the draw, the offending team shall be penalised a further two (2) points.
ReplyDeleteWe must appeal...$250,on a good day post match our rehydration profit would almost cover those costs.Secondly i think Mick and Anonymous should sort out their issues like men(or adults)or shut the #$%^ up.
ReplyDeleteHey Dallas. Where did you get the delusionary idea that I was an adult? I would love to sort the mater out but the voices in my head that keep posting anonymously wont agree.
