Captain's Match Report.

Match report 18th April. vs Doyalson at Kin2.
 
Perfect day for footy and surprise, a fine pitch to play on.
Dominated early play with great passing and running off the ball to support. An early chance to Adrian after lovely lead up play (about 7 passes) but miscued.
Doyalson were trying to get their passing game together but strangely it was amongst their own defenders who didnt count on the gazelle like qualities (ha ha) of Mick who got a foot to a pass just inside the box and lashed a shot that fortunately wasnt on target and only succeded to find Adrian at the far post who made no mistake 1-0.
Unfortunately we fell away a bit and lost our passing game by (according to the coach) looking for the miracle pass and gave the ball away much too easy. However our defence held firm and even when Doylo had a shot they were never goin to trouble Bob too much. It was gr8 to see our defence never panic (welcome Steve O ) and actually start our attacking raids with clever and precise passing. Even Max under pressure was turning his marker and giving beautiful passes.
 
Start of the second half saw us take the field with 10 men seeing as we all wanted Vic to actually play as he would have had a ball the way their defenders still wanted to play passes amongst themselves. When he finally got on it was exactly the way we saw it. He harrassed them and kept getting the ball off them b4 it got to halfway. It took us about 15 mins b4 we settled down again and kept possession but when we did we dominated. A screaming half volley from Mick was somehow tipped around the corner by the keeper but 5 mins later a perfect corner from Flemmo found Micks bullet header for the bottom corner again parried by the keeper only for Vic the poacher to lash it in the net. By this time we were dominating and 5 minutes from time a lovely cut-back from Vic and expert dummie by Statue allowed Mick to finally beat his nemesis in goals to land a fine 3-0 result for the old farts.
