Pretenders to Contenders
The mighty Kincumber Relics have sounded a warning to the O/45 B league with a dominant draw against competition heavyweights the Woy Woy Roosters. Despite the loss of some key players and a return to football from a lengthy break, the Relics were able to capture some form of old against the Roosters who have only lost once in season 2012.
The Relics celebrated their performance with a well earned beer! Well done boys!

During the wet weather break the Relics' took a mid-season bonding trip to Greece (pictured above).
The Relics went into the match without Relic superstars Waz (stress leave), Mickledildo (wrist injury) and Old Crow (claw injury). Team veteran Shadow was also a late withdrawal due to pre-marital nerves. To counter these losses the Relics were boosted by the return of Smokey, Head, Howler and Becks who added much to the Relics attack and defence.
The match was a fast and torrid affair with the ball continually blasted from one end to the other. The Relics were making their much more fancied rivals look like old broilers rather than Roosters as they out ran, out tackled and out-muscled their poultry foe.
The Relics defence again carried the day easily repelling anything the chooks could throw at them. The back line of Ball, Smokey, Toe, Banker, Dallas, Head and Becks were impenetrable providing a solid base for Bella to keep his sheets clean. Bella’s aerial work was simply sensational. His form was so impressive that the Kincumber 35 Bs, who were watching from the sidelines, pleaded with him to defer his usual 15 post match cans to keep goals for them in the match following........enough said.

In attack the Relics were desperately unlucky mounting numerous attacking raids and hitting the timber a least a dozen times. With just an ounce of luck the Relics could have scored three or four goals. The Axe, Howler, Jaffa and Darchniyan combined well with their midfield, often finding themselves out-numbering their defence in front of goal. The Tonk and the Hat were inspirational.
The Relics best chance, however, came during a goal mouth scramble when Blackbeard looked certain to score with a deft header to the top right corner of the goal. The keeper was well beaten but unfortunately the ball hit the cross-bar.
During the latter half of the match the frustration began to show for the Roosters as they began to chop and hack the Relics. They realised that they would be lucky to get out of this game with a draw.
A Rooster's midfielder shows his disappointment as yet another Chook raid is thwarted by the Relics
Ass Coach Bin was ecstatic post-match believing his tyros had turned a corner. It will be up to the Relics to take the attitude and commitment from this match into the remainder of the season.

I know what your not doing this weekend.
Central Coast Football ·
Due to the recent wet weather and after consultation with both Gosford and Wyong councils, CCF has made the decision to postpone all Football Matches this weekend, June 16th & 17th, in the interests of being proactive to protect grounds.
The entire round will be rescheduled to the end of the competition.
This decision was not made lightly and while we understand there maybe some disappointment around this we trust you will understand and the early notification will allow your members to make other arrangements for the weekend.
